Dear St'a7mes Families,
I want to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for our stl’a7ashen yesterday evening. It was such an honour, and I know I speak on behalf of all staff when I say how privileged we are to be welcomed into the St’a7mes school family.
Events like these don’t come together on their own. They require the dedication, effort, and collaboration of so many. A special thank you goes out to our speaker, Chiakstn, for sharing your wisdom; to our floor manager, Char, for ensuring everything ran smoothly; and to our student speaker, Keaton, for your leadership and courage to share your voice.
I also want to thank Matthew for his outstanding organization and all of the staff and floor workers who contributed their time and energy to make this event such a success. It truly takes a village, and I am deeply grateful to be part of such a caring and committed community.
We are also thrilled to share that the 2024 Indigenous Winter Artisan Market is happening soon! This event is an important fundraiser organized by the Squamish Nation Education Department to support our Indigenous Grads. It’s a wonderful opportunity to find unique, handmade gifts while supporting a great cause.

Cheri - Cheri showed wanáxws this week by carrying herself in a good way and by being kind and respectful to others.
Kaltee - Kaltee showed tímit through her extraordinary work with the stl’a7ashen as well as her focus on her schoolwork this week.
Thank you all for your continued support and for making St’a7mes such a special place.
Take care,
Cory Hartling
