Ha7lh Skwayel Families -
Please be reminded that Monday, October 2 school will not be in session as we pause to honor the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This week has been an amazing week for our students. They have been sharing culture, language, and ceremony with schools throughout Squamish. We raise our hands to them for the meaningful and important work they are doing. This is their time! Thank you for those who shared in ceremony with us today. Pictures will come in the following week.
We also want to lift up our families and community as we go into this weekend:
This is your time, to be lifted up.
This is your time, to be lifted up.
This is your time, to be lifted up. . .
And we will rise up - to lift you up.
There is still work to be done in the work of Truth and Reconciliation. As we go into the weekend, we want to express our continued commitment to our community and families; of doing the work it takes to rise up to the task of lifting you and our children up.
This weekend as we stop to reflect on the truth of the impact of residential schools, as we remember our ancestors with love - may our sorrow have a safe and loving place to land. As you look at our precious children, of the work they are doing, may hope fill our hearts. They are illuminating a beautiful way forward.
Most Sincerely,
Alysa and the staff at St'a7mes School
