PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE 

Dear St’a7mes School Families,

I hope this message finds you well as we move into a busy and exciting season at our school. Here are some important updates and reminders for the week ahead:

2024 Indigenous Winter Artisan Market

We are thrilled to share that the 2024 Indigenous Winter Artisan Market is happening soon! This event is an important fundraiser organized by the Squamish Nation Education Department to support our Indigenous Grads. It’s a wonderful opportunity to find unique, handmade gifts while supporting a great cause.

Details:

  • Date: December 14th and 15th 
  • Time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Location: Totem Hall - 1380 Stawamus Rd. Squamish, BC

We encourage all families and community members to attend and show their support.

Winter stl’a7ashen – December 5th

Our Winter stl’a7ashen is coming up next week on Tuesday, December 5th! This is a special event where we gather as a community to celebrate and engage in important cultural activities. A huge thank-you goes out to all staff and community members who are helping make this event possible.

We’d love to see as many families as possible join us! More details can be found below or by reaching out to the school office.

Doors open at 4:30pm - Work begins at 5:00pm

Early Dismissal – Friday, December 6th

Please be reminded that next Friday, December 6th, is an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM. Please make arrangements for your child(ren) to be picked up on time.

School Values

We would like to lift up the following students who exemplified our school values this week: 

 

Ivar - Ivar showed chén̓chenstway this week by lifting up those around him with his kindness. 

 

Christin - Christin showed tímit by really focusing on her school work with all of her might. 

 

Delmar - Delmar showed wanáxws by always carrying himself in a good way and by spreading joy around our school.

Farewell and Welcome 

We would like to say farewell to our wonderful Education Assistant Maija. Maija has been part of the St’a7mes school family for seven years. We will deeply miss her while wishing her nothing but the best in the future. 

 

Please join us in welcoming Swati and Becca who will be joining our school as Education Assistants.

Christmas Community Care 
 
If you would like to donate to Community Christmas Care, please bring donations to the school by Wednesday, December 4th. This year they are accepting new toys, gift cards or cash donations that can be e-transferred to [email protected]
