Welcome Guests -
This week we welcomed many guests to our school. Heather Androsoff (District Principal of Early Learning) came to work with me on The Student Voices Project. Kids participated in conversation and hands on activities to tell us how they want to feel at school and how they want others to feel. We did a lot of great stations including an art play station with painting and mini easels, small world play, loose parts pictures, paint pens and wooden figurines.
Later in the week Krissy Appel and Kristy Crnkovich, principals from the Surrey School District came to our school to see the good work we were doing here and what they might bring back to learn from in creating decolonized programming in their district.
Carvers in Residence! We’ve welcomed Matthew and Liam Baker onsite to carve the canoe that will be positioned at the new waterfront park here in Squamish.
