School Overview

Aya7ayulh Chet (Cultural Journeys) – Culture & Language Program of Choice.
Learning Expeditions – Project Based Learning Program of Choice.
St'a7mes School is a K–12 Culture and Language School where learning is grounded in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh ways of knowing, being, and doing. Over the years, the school's elementary culture and language program and secondary project-based learning program have evolved into a unified K–12 model in which language, culture, project-based learning, and land-based learning are woven throughout the educational experience.
Students engage with the British Columbia curriculum through meaningful and authentic learning experiences that connect academic learning to community, culture, and place. From Kindergarten through Grade 12, students develop the knowledge, competencies, and skills outlined in the BC curriculum while building critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and personal responsibility.
Sḵwx̱wú7mesh culture and language are infused throughout learning, providing opportunities for students to strengthen their sense of identity and belonging while developing a deeper understanding of the land, community, and their role within both. Guided by the values of Tímit, Wanáxws, and Chén̓chenstway, St'a7mes School nurtures confident, capable learners who are prepared for future success while remaining connected to culture, language, and place.
