Coping with Anxiety (in our children)! - Parent Presentation

It has been a tricky couple of years through this pandemic and we are here to help! We would like to invite you to our Parent Presentation –Helping your child cope with stress & anxiety. This will be presented on April 28th from 6-7:30pm at Valleycliffe Elementary School by Jenna Gleeson, M.Ed, RCC Mental Health Therapist with Child and Youth Mental Health, MCFD. You will learn about:

-Signs of anxiety in childhood

-Difference between typical and atypical anxiety

-How to increase children’s resilience in times of uncertainty

-The role that you play in helping your child manage stress and anxiety

-Coping strategies for stress and anxiety

-Take home tools and resources

-Learn of the support services in the school and community.

May 7th is National Child and Youth Mental Health Day - this day is about building caring connections between young people and the caring adults in their lives.  We know having caring, connected conversations can have a big impact on the mental health of children and youth.
